I focus on the phenomenology of people’s existence, particularly those who are socially and economically marginalized. I engage with people over the course of months and sometimes years during which meaningful relationships form the basis of the visual narrative. My recent book "7 Migrants" (Éditions Cayenne, 2020) documents the lives of temporary foreign workers in Quebec.
My parents emigrated from an economically deprived southern Italy, arriving in Montréal on 25 April 1967 with very few possessions and a combined thirty dollars in their pockets. The impetus for my photographic projects is my own sensibility as an immigrant to Canada.
