Philémon Gravel


Philémon Gravel is a co-founder of Entremise, a non-profit organization promoting the temporary use of vacant buildings in Montreal. Having recently obtained his master's degree in architecture from the University of Montreal, Philémon Gravel specializes in social and alternative architecture linked to built heritage. He has conceived and coordinated a number of projects, including two inter-university competitions and the "Colloque interuniversitaire des étudiants en architecture du Québec." As the Director of Operations and Membership of the Administrative Council of Bellastock ,Québec, Gravel helped organize the Bellastock Festival focusing on ephemeral architecture in service of communities. More recently, he co-founded the youth committee of Héritage Montréal. Philémon is the recipient of a number of awards and grants, including the prestigious Bourse du College des presidents, which is awarded yearly to one Quebec architecture graduate for pursuing a research project on heritage reconversion strategies in Europe.
