City Bureau

City Bureau is a platform for incubating urban-related programming in the Faculty of Fine Arts.

In an open atelier setting, City Bureau hosts a changing array of courses, workshops, micro-schools, colloquia, and partnership projects that are specifically focused on the built and lived environment. As the studio/laboratory arm of the Institute for Urban Futures, the Bureau creates a collective atmosphere of engaged problem solving and experimental investigation that brings artists, designers, performers, and researchers together every summer. City Bureau 2017 will launch with the course Urban Futures: Developing Conscientious Competition Proposals; it will be home to the "Quartier Concordia” urban interventions production studio; we will pilot a micro-school for training in audio field recording techniques; and the Bureau will host the inaugural D3 Smart City Zone.
