Tricia Toso

Tricia Toso is a PhD candidate in Concordia’s Communications studies program. She has worked with Ageing + Communications + Technologies (ACT) on a project that studied older adults’ use and interaction with public spaces, and is currently organizing La Ruche d’Art’s public conversations series “Urban Bodies.” Her research and practice is engaged in revealing the ideologies, values and belief systems that are embedded within urban infrastructure. In analyzing and challenging contemporary infrastructural projects, Toso considers the potential Indigenous perspectives have for urban planning. Can Indigenous planning offer a framework of a theory of action that empowers community voices, advocates principles of stewardship, collective rights and cultural identities?
