Co-organizing a one-day conference in June 2019 on the theme of "Anti-displacement in the City"; and continuing work on the online magazine, Progressive City: Radical Alternatives, as a medium for the accessible exchange of practices and movements that strive to center equity.
Dr. Norma Rantisi is Professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, who is interested in urban political economy, including the socio-spatial organization of workforce development initiatives and alternative economies. She is working on a project with Dr. Deborah Leslie (University of Toronto) on social-economy training initiatives in Montreal and Toronto and an individual project on Palestinian women's artisanal cooperatives. She is co-chair of the organization Planners Network (PN), which sponsors the online magazine, Progressive City: Radical Alternatives.
