Metal shop
The Core Technical Centre’s metal shop supports cutting, bending, folding, drilling and we have numerous hand tools to work with. We also have welding facilities (MIG and TIG), plasma cutting capabilities and a dedicated area to sand or grind steel objects. Our technical staff are experts and can help guide you through your project requirements.
During Summer 2022, access to the Metal Shop will be limited to Graduate Students and Researchers. Please follow the contact information below to book a consultation.
We're ready to assist
The Core Technical Centre’s staff will be available to assist all Fine Arts students, faculty and researchers in at-home art production.
During a campus closure, our technical staff will continue to be available for consultations and will do their best to help support at-home art production.
Please visit our Moodle page to find out more information about any processes and the resources within the Core Technical Centre.
Public accessibility
Please note that the Core Technical Centre is not open to the public. Only Fine Arts students, faculty and researchers may use the metal shop facilities.
As such and until further notice, the metal shop is accessible by appointment only. Appointments may be booked directly with the technical staff during a consultation, by phone or email, but never in person.
