Biography: After growing up on the West Coast, Colin attended the University of Victoria, graduating with distinction in 2015 with a BA Honours in Human Geography and minor in Film Studies. Colin is continuing his interdisciplinary research in the burgeoning field of media industry studies at Concordia with his SSHRC funded Master’s thesis which will examine the industrial convergence between Hollywood and Silicon Valley. By interrogating the new industrial discourses and practices of Netflix, this research seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the shifting media landscape of television as it migrates to the internet.
Outside the classroom Colin is a hobby photographer, music journalist, and community sports enthusiast, exploring the myriad opportunities Montreal has to offer.
