VPN Client

How to Download and Configure the VPN Client

VPN support on Mac requires at least macOS High Sierra(10.13), you will need to upgrade(free) your version of macOS if you are running something older. This may not be possible depending on the age of your Mac.

Download the VPN client from, under "Software and Applications", then "Download VPN Client".

Alternative download:

macOS High Sierra(10.13): please visit the "Software and Applications" section of the MyConcordia portal, then "Download VPN Client".
macOS Mojave(10.14), Catalina(10.15) or Big Sur(11):

Once installed launch Forticlient, then check the checkbox and click the I accept button.

This is needed because this version of Forticlient is the publicly available light version which only has VPN functionality.


In the next screen, you'll need to click on "Configure VPN"


In this screen you'll need to enter the information as seen below and click save.

Connection Name: Concordia VPN

Remote Gateway:


Alternatively you can enter you enter the information as seen below to save your netname to avoid having to enter it everytime you connect to the VPN, you will still need to enter your password.

Connection Name: Concordia VPN

Remote Gateway:

Authentication: Save login

Username: Netname


Once the VPN connection is connection is created, enter your Netname and password and click connect.


On macOS High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina, you may be prompted to allow the VPN system extension.

Click "Open Security Preferences"


Where it says "System software from developer "Fortinet, Inc" was blocked from loading", click "Allow".


You should then be connected.
