Biography

Born and raised in Montréal, Amelia Wong-Mersereau holds a BA from Concordia University in Communication and Cultural Studies. Her MA thesis uses ecofeminist philosophies to investigate how gendered and sexual otherness are performed in the work of Beijing-based artist Kong Ning.

From 2015 to 2017, Amelia was Editor-in-Chief of Yiara Magazine, a student-run feminist art and art history publication in Montreal. As an MA student, she interned for esse arts + opinions in 2018, and is now a member of their Editorial Board.
