Applications are open for Concordia’s new Senior Director, Indigenous Directions

Concordia is seeking candidates to fill the role of Senior Director, Indigenous Directions. The position emerged out of the work that the IDLG has done to create an Action Plan for making the university more welcoming and accessible to Indigenous students, staff, and faculty. The Senior Director will help to meaningfully and strategically shape Concordia's commitments to creating a higher-learning environment where Indigenous peoples' experiences, stories, cultures, languages, and perspectives are seen as valuable.

As part of their role, the Senior Director, Indigenous Directions will be responsible for collaborating with and guiding key stakeholders from the university community to ensure that the Action Plan recommendations are implemented in their respective time frames.

Au Revoir Charlie

Charlie O’Connor, Indigenous Directions Project Coordinator from May 2017-June 2018, has bid the IDLG farewell for the summer. Covering the post for the duration of Tiffany Ashoona’s maternity leave, Charlie accomplished amazing feats in the ever-changing landscape that is the Indigenous Directions movement at Concordia. From welcoming new colleagues to the team, to reminding his peers to stay healthy and focused on their emotional and mental well-being, Charlie left a positive lasting impression with all whom he met. We are thrilled for his next steps in completing his Master’s thesis and back-packing Ireland, but most of all, we look forward to his return as an IDLG member in the Fall. All of his hard work and coordination has paid off to truly launch the IDLG to the stage it is at today.
