Coronavirus safety program

We continue to monitor Quebec’s epidemiological situation and follow public health recommendations.

Limiting the spread of respiratory infectious diseases

Monitor your health and the onset of symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nasal discharge and nasal congestion. If you have any of these symptoms, take steps to reduce the risk of infecting other people.

  • If you have a fever, stay at home.
  • If you have a cough, sore throat or nasal congestion, wear a mask.

For 10 days after the onset of symptoms:

  • Keep your distance from others as much as possible.
  • Avoid contact with vulnerable people, such as the elderly, the immunocompromised and people with health problems.
  • Choose remote activities when possible.
  • Wear a procedure mask on campus if you cannot stay home
  • Avoid non-essential social events.
  • Tell the people you are in contact with that you might be contagious.

COVID-19 is a respiratory infectious disease. Take the same steps listed above to limit the transmission of viruses (ex: seasonal flu) and respiratory infectious diseases.

Masks

Wearing a mask is no longer mandatory in most university settings. However, masks remain an effective tool in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Procedure masks remain available at the following Concordia building entrances:

SGW: EV, FB, GM, GN, H, MB, VA

LOY:  HA, HB, JR, HU, SP, CJ, GE, PC, RA

Consult public health guidelines on masks.

For masks procurement, please contact Facilities Management (x2400).

Suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases

Staff with questions regarding sick days, medical leave, or accommodation requests can contact the HR medical absences team.
  • Students who need to communicate an absence should contact their professor, research lead or department administrator. They may also wish to consult information on academic accommodations, including reporting short-term absences.

Those who need non-urgent medical attention can contact Health Services.

Consult Quebec’s COVID-19 resources for additional information.
