No access to campus allowed

Since Concordia’s campuses and libraries closed on March 13, we have received many requests from faculty, staff and students wishing to come to campus for various reasons.

As a reminder, we are following health directives from the Government of Quebec, which we fully support and are committed to enforcing. As a result, access to campus has been limited to those essential services personnel designated by their supervisors to keep the university operational.

Until now, we were able to grant access in a few exceptional or particularly urgent cases. However, given that Montreal recently declared a local state of health emergency, the Ministry of Education is asking us to further restrict building access. As a result, occasional access is no longer possible.

Effective immediately, no access to campus is allowed. The only exceptions are essential services personnel, and certain researchers who have been granted exemptions by the Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies, because of the nature of their work.

We realize that this news may come as an inconvenience to many. But as we are sure you will understand, these are exceptional times and supporting the health and safety of our community by adhering to COVID-19 containment measures is a priority that must come before any other.

Thank you in advance for your support and collaboration,

Roger Coté
Vice-President, Services
