On Saturday, August 11, an electrical interruption will take place in select buildings on the Loyola Campus as part of the ongoing construction on Concordia’s new Applied Science Hub

The interruptions will impact all electrical power in VE, VL, SC and DA between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. and emergency power in HA, HB, HC, PY, AD, CC, FC and RF between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Faculty and staff are urged to shutdown their computers and electronic equipment on Friday, August 10, to avoid any issues linked to power fluctuations.

During the emergency power shutdown, building systems, lab equipment, and wall outlets connected to regular electrical power will remain unaffected. However, all equipment serviced by emergency power outlets should be switched to regular electrical outlets, as emergency power will be unavailable.

For safety reasons, during these time periods, access to impacted buildings will not be granted. Please note that the Vanier Library will open at 10 a.m., as scheduled.

The timing of this shutdown, and all subsequent interruptions, has been and will be carefully evaluated to ensure the least possible disruption. Further interruptions will be required in the coming months for the completion of the Applied Science Hub’s electrical system.

For questions please contact your respective departments and instructors.
