If something happens at Concordia, you’d want to be among the first to know, right?

Then install the Alertus + app on your smartphone. It’s a free alert system that sends push notifications to the university community during significant incidents — like, say, campus-wide closures after a 40-centimetre snowfall.

Emergency announcements will be shared over Alertus + first and the notifications are immediate.

The app is available for iOS, Android and Blackberry 10.2.1 or later and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. It’s quick to install, takes minimal storage and the data transfer is negligible. Once downloaded, make sure to enter the organization code “concordia” or the app won’t work.

Don’t forget to keep this app up to date so that it functions properly in an emergency situation.

Don’t have a smartphone?

When warranted, notifications are posted to the university’s homepage. There’s also an emergency information line with recorded messages that you can call anytime: 514-848-8800.

If you’re connected on social media, “like” the Concordia University Office of Emergency Management Facebook page or follow their Twitter feed for regular updates.

Download the Alertus + app now from the
Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
