Aiming to be a responsible shopper this December? Three events will put you in the spirit of giving without going down the path of unbridled consumption.

Haut+Fort

On November 26 and 27, meet more than 40 local artists from Montreal’s architecture and design industry as they showcase unique gifts at the fifth annual Haut+Fort holiday market.

The event will take place in the atrium of the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV Building).

“We have a wide variety of wonderfully creative products this year,” says Anne Thomas, organizer of H+F and a Concordia graduate (BFA 86). “At least nine Concordia Alumni will be showcasing their many talents with food, art, jewellery, design and home accessories.”

The event will also feature 15 selected designers from the official Code Souvenir Montreal Special Edition 2016-17. An initiative of the city, Code Souvenir is a competition that results in a catalogue intended to help institutional buyers choose items created by Montréal designers.

There will be several events and holiday surprises throughout the weekend and treats will be available for sampling and purchase.

Octoraise Pop-Up Market

Are you keen to empower local commerce and sustainable entrepreneurship? Come check out the Octoraise Pop-Up Market, Holiday Edition on November 30 and December 1 between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the EV Building atrium.

Organized by a group of Concordia students and alumni, the exhibition will feature unique, creative and fun gifts from more than 30 local artisans and shops. Concordia’s Sustainability team will be there until 4 p.m. providing useful tips on reducing your holiday environmental footprint.

Concordia Holiday Luncheons

Hospitality Concordia will host a traditional holiday feast in the EV atrium, on the Sir George Williams Campus, on December 8 between 12 and 2 p.m. and in the Loyola Jesuit Hall and Conference Centre (RF Building), located on the Loyola Campus, on December 13 between 12 and 2 p.m. Check out the menu and RSVP to attend.

All profits from ticket sales and the raffle will go towards the Concordia University Student Parents Centre (CUSP).
