The Concordia community is saddened to learn that after a long illness, Phung Tu, administrator of systems development in the Office of Financial Aid and Awards, passed away on December 11, with family by her side.

Phung was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and arrived to Canada from there in 1978. She became a full-time employee at Concordia in June 1981, starting as a bookkeeper for the Concordia University Students Association. In August 1985 she was appointed as a financial aid officer in the Financial Aid and Awards Office, where she worked until her leave, which began in October 2006.

Condolences can be offered to her family at the Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Côte-des-Neiges Rd., Montreal, on December 17 until 9 p.m. and on December 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A funeral service in Phung’s memory will be held on December 18 at 11 a.m. at the Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges. That day, the university’s flags will be lowered to half-mast to honour her memory.

Donations can be made to the Fondation Institut de gériatrie de Montréal in Phung’s memory.
