Members of Concordia’s graduating class of 2013 proudly showed their dedication to their university. Students contributed to the most successful Grad Class Campaign in recent years in support of the next generation of Concordians.

The annual Grad Class Campaign, created by Advancement and Alumni Relations, invited students to donate $20.13 in honour of their graduation year. Recent graduates also gave generously to this year’s campaign, which funded financial aid programs for students in need.

The $20.13 campaign raised nearly $24,000 from more than 950 donors, representing a 33 per cent jump in donors and 43 per cent in dollars over last year.

"Talking to students about the Grad Class Campaign made me realize how many of us care about Concordia and our fellow students. When you add up each small act of generosity, it goes a long way,” says Romney Copeman, a student caller and member of the 2013 Grad Class Committee.

“It sets a precedent for one's role in society. By giving to the $20.13 Campaign, students showed that they care about building a strong community.”

Grad Class Committee members decide where to designate funds raised and help to mobilize students around the campaign.

“Donating through this campaign allows new graduates to join thousands of proud alumni and donors who support Concordia and its students every year. It marks a milestone and shows our students’ appreciation for their Concordia experience,” says Bonnie Kay, call centre manager in Advancement and Alumni Relations.

Funds raised through the Grad Class Campaign, part of Concordia’s Annual Giving Campaign, have been invested in scholarships and bursaries in the name of the graduating class.
