Travel web page offers important safety information

The travel section of the emergency management web page contains information to help keep Concordians safe while travelling outside of Quebec for university-related reasons.

Some Concordians may be travelling for university-related reasons during the Reading Week of February 18. The travel section has links to Concordia policies on university travel and to resources from the Canadian government that can help keep you safe while out of the province.

The web page also outlines services Emergency Management offers travellers before their departure, such as the travel registry, country risk assessments and an emergency contact card.

When faculty, staff and students register their university-related trips on the travel registry, they provide the university with a tool to help keep them safe. The registry lists Concordians travelling outside of Quebec for more than 24 hours for university-related reasons and is confidential. The information is used only to help people in the event of an emergency. The travel page has more information on the registry.

“The travel section of the emergency management web page is a convenient service we designed to make gathering travel safety information quick and easy,” says Darren Dumoulin, emergency management senior advisor.

To record trips in the registry, log into MyConcordia portal and click on the travel registry link in the menu.

The travel section of the emergency management web page is the first step in a plan to offer a comprehensive webpage that will contain all information regarding Concordia-related travel.
