The Concordia Sustainability Hub is encouraging Concordians to nominate their colleagues, peers, and friends to receive a sustainability award at the third annual Sustainable Champions Gala, on March 5, 2013.

The event celebrates and thanks students, staff, and faculty members for their diverse contributions toward the social, ecological and economic well-being of the university. Examples of such efforts range from enterprising employees who reduce office waste and faculty members engaged in community development projects, to students or groups rallying to promote sustainable initiatives on campus.

The Sustainable Champions Gala was created to demonstrate Concordia’s collective gratitude for ambassadors of change.

It strives to appreciate those involved in sustainability endeavors at Concordia, to encourage dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders, and to raise the overall profile of sustainability on campus.

Everyone is invited to join the cause by attending the gala

When: Tuesday, March 5 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Room H-767 of the Henry F. Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.), Sir George Williams Campus.

Those wishing to highlight the special efforts of a student, staff, or faculty member at Concordia, may send a paragraph describing the nominee’s activities to sustainablechampions@concordia.ca by Friday, February 15.

Members of the Concordia Sustainability Hub include the Concordia Student Union, David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise, Environmental Health and Safety, Security Department, John Molson Sustainable Business Group, Sustainability Action Fund, Sustainable Communities Partnership, and Sustainable Concordia.
