On Wednesday February 15, 2012, members from Concordia University and the Concordia University Continuing Education Part-Time Faculty Union (CUCEPTFU) signed a renewal of the collective agreement that covers instructors at the Centre for Continuing Education for the period from September 7, 2007, to September 6, 2015.

The atmosphere was positive as university and union representatives met to mark the successful conclusion to the negotiations. “Interest-based bargaining has worked well for our group and we hope to continue this practice in future negotiations,” said CUCEPTFU President Brenda Grant.

“Both parties worked very hard to reach a common understanding on the issues,” said Bram Freedman, Vice-President, Institutional Relations and Secretary-General.

In the spirit of collaboration and teamwork, both parties negotiated terms that would represent the interests of CUCEPTFU employees as well as those of the university.

The new CUPCEPTFU will be posted on the Human Resources website in the coming weeks.
