Shaping Concordia's future

First- and final-year students are asked to share their Concordia experience

UPDATE: Take part in the NSSE survey before March 1 to be entered in a draw for one of 25 Chapters gift cards, valued at $25 or $50 each. All respondents are eligible for the iPad draw.

First- and final-year undergraduate students at Concordia are encouraged to complete the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). The survey is designed to assess the extent to which students engage in educational practices associated with high levels of learning and development.

Beginning Monday, February 6, first- and final-year students from across all disciplines will receive invitations to participate via email. Students have until the end of March to complete the questionnaire.

The NSSE is used by hundreds of academic institutions across Canada and the United States to measure how well students feel they are able to interact with their professors, find and meet academic challenges, and enrich their educational experience.

“A robust response from our students is very important, especially as the feedback we receive becomes integrated in our planning and appraisal activities,” says Brad Tucker, director of the Institutional Planning Office.

NSSE results help administrators and educators determine how to increase the value of time spent in the classroom, which resources and support services are most important to students, the opportunities they appreciate and the tools that support their success. All of this information is invaluable for planning programs and setting priorities.

Students who participate in the survey will be eligible to win one of 20 gift cards valued at $20 and five gift cards valued at $50 from Chapters-Indigo. In addition, one lucky student will win an Apple iPad 2 (16Gb  WiFi) valued at $519.
