Participation in the light bulb exchange program has resulted in the collection of about 50 old incandescent light bulbs, and requests continue to flow in.

Individuals who rounded up three or more old bulbs were entered in a draw for one of three $40 gift certificates to 3 Amigos Restaurant. The lucky winners are:

  • Lillian Jackson, Science College
  • Valerie Millette, Counselling and Development
  • Janice Robinson, IITS

Daniel Gauthier, Building Performance Coordinator for Facilities Management, urges Concordia staff and faculty to continue trading in their old bulbs for new compact fluorescent bulbs. “I estimate the project, so far, has saved the university $2,000 in electricity over the next five years. It has also saved the need to change about 250 light bulbs, a task not many of us enjoy.”

How to participate

Send an email to daniegau@alcor.concordia.ca with the following information:

  • Your name and department
  • Type of bulb requested (40, 60 or 100 watt equivalent)
  • Location or room number where the bulb will be replaced

Any questions or comments can also be directed to Daniel Gauthier.
