A total of $2,661.33 was raised to fight the inflammatory disease that affects the ability of nerve cells in the brain and in the spinal cord to communicate with each other. There is currently no known cure for the disease.

The organizing team consisted of Petra Alves and the indefatigable Nancy Curran, both from Hospitality Concordia, as well as Filomena De Gennaro (Office of the Registrar) and Sharon McLean (Facilities Management).

Along with selling a pasta lunch for $10, organizers sold raffle tickets and gave away lots of prizes donated by local businesses. The big winners were:

  • Maria Pazula-Lambert, Office of the Registrar: Two tickets at the Bell Centre for Supertramp, donated by CJAD radio station
  • Diane Harrison, Office of University Advancement and Alumni Relations: Canadiens signed T-shirt, donated by the Montreal Canadiens
  • Danny Rodrigues: Canadiens hockey jersey, donated by CJAD
  • Vince MacDougall, Mail Services: iPad (value $500), donated by Concordia Campus Retail Stores.

Prizes may be claimed from Petra Alves at Hospitality Concordia, 514-848-2424, ext. 4947.
