Concordia students participated this year in competition categories ranging from bridge design to consulting – and performed admirably, bringing back a total of three trophies.

Sandy Woo and Shan Wain’s Re-engineering team won third place, as well as a special Environmental Awareness Award for their eco-friendly energy-saving computer mouse and water-heating designs.

Matthew Plymale, who participated in the Scientific Communication competition, won first place for his presentation on cyborg anthropology. This first-place win means that Plymale will compete at the national level in the Canadian Engineering Competition, which will be held at McGill University in March.

The Concordia delegation’s confidence, creativity and spirit made quite an impression on the judges. This same energy will be invaluable when Concordia hosts the 28th edition of the Quebec Engineering Competition in 2012.
