Here for the holidays?
For more than a decade, Concordia’s annual International Students Holiday Party has united students from around the world.
The party’s central theme – a first-rate meal with plenty of festive cheer – has remained constant and is unlikely to deviate again this year, when up to 300 international and out-of-province students converge at Montreal’s Nouvel Hôtel and Spa on December 23.
This year’s dinner, hosted once again by the Concordia University Alumni Association and the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office, will mark the 11th such gathering with guests treated to a hot buffet of delectable international foods.
The perennially popular get-together has long been hailed as a “feel-good” occasion for students who can’t get home for the holidays.
The dinner, which begins early evening, has seen the introduction in recent years of informal after-parties for students keen to cut the rug in the city’s dance clubs.
Concordia University President and Vice-Chancellor Judith Woodsworth and a number of other university dignitaries are expected to attend this year’s celebration.
Concordia is home to more-than 4,700 international students who make up 9 percent of the total student body.
