David Allen, one of Concordia’s most enthusiastic fundraisers was featured on CBC News: Montreal as its Montrealer of the Week.

Allen is a prominent member of the Concordia University team that gathers recycling from various spots around the Sir George Williams campus.

Jennifer Hall, CBC News: Montreal co-anchor, followed Allen as he made his rounds, chatting with faculty, staff members and hustling up sponsors for this year’s Shuffle.

Concordians might remember Allen was honored as “Shuffler of the Year” in 2007 for his dedication and commitment to the annual walkathon. True to form, Allen wound up his shoot by asking both Hall and her cameraperson to sponsor him. And yes…they both kicked in!

The Concordia Shuffle was launched as a campus-to-campus walk-a-thon and fundraiser to support undergraduate and graduate scholarships and to build morale within the university. Since 1990, the event has raised $900,000 and counting.
