Concordia welcomes new Chief Information Officer

Vice President Services Michael Di Grappa announces the appointment of Marc Denoncourt as Associate Vice-President, Information Systems and Chief Information Officer at Concordia University. Reporting to the Vice President, Services, the Associate Vice-President, Information Systems and Chief Information Officer is responsible for the strategic direction and management of all information systems resources at the university. 

“Marc Denoncourt brings more than 25 years experience in the manufacturing, finance and media industries and has worked effectively in large and complex organizations,” says Vice-President Di Grappa. “He has strong competencies and leadership in the development of IT and business technology strategies and solutions. Marc has shown that he can communicate vision and objectives and motivate teams to develop and implement change management strategies.”

Marc Denoncourt holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science (BScA) and Master degree, Information Systems (MScA) from the Université du Québec à Montréal.

He comes to Concordia from CBC / Radio-Canada, in Montreal, where he was Executive Director, Information Technology. He led an IT department of over 300 employees responsible for overall enterprise IT including television, radio and internet, both for English and French networks.

Before that, he was Senior Director, Information Systems, Treasury & Capital Markets at the National Bank of Canada, responsible for the information systems department of the Treasury and Capital Markets division of the bank.

“I would like to thank Loni Cornax who ably served as acting head of our IT operations since December 2009. I am very appreciative of her efforts,” says Di Grappa.

“We are extremely pleased to have Marc joining Concordia. He will not only be leading our IT operations but also providing strategic counsel on IT issues and development at Concordia. He will be a strong addition to the Concordia team.”
