US train stations are going digital
Posted on September 19, 2016

Public Radio International (PRI), reporting on plans to replace the huge "flipping" train arrival and departure display board at some train stations with a digital display, speaks with Matt Soar, associate professor in the Department of Communication Studies, about his collection of refurbished 'Solari' boards from the demolished passenger terminal at Mirabel airport, and his research into communication and signage technologies. The online version of the story includes the audio of the PRI interview with Soar and a video clip of a Solari board in action. The piece is reprised by National Public Radio, SDPB World Cafe and Mid-Missouri Public Radio.
