Welcoming new faculty members to John Molson

Seven new tenure-track faculty members bring new expertise

Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business welcomes seven new tenure-track faculty members to its community.

“Our academic and research communities thrive as a result of the knowledge both brought and created by our expert faculty,” explains Anne-Marie Croteau, dean of Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business. “I am happy to introduce this year’s new and recently hired faculty members.”

Maggie Cheng Maggie Cheng

Maggie Cheng is an assistant professor in Management and joined John Molson in August 2021. Her human-centred research revolves around three axes: how HRM algorithms can be ethically harnessed to make management practices better, addressing issues in biases, equity, legal compliance, and accommodation; how causal modeling can improve algorithmic fairness in managing employees; and how the intra-personal experience and the well-being of leaders translate into employee and organizational outcomes. Before joining Concordia, she taught at McMaster University in Ontario and Western New England University in Massachusetts. She was awarded the Best PhD Student Instructor Award at McMaster University in 2020.

Yu-Shan Hsu Yu-Shan Hsu

Yu-Shan Hsu joins John Molson as an assistant professor of Management in August 2021. She received her PhD in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Masters of Arts in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota. She is interested in understanding what can facilitate work and life experiences of employees and their families working and living abroad. Her research has been published in various outlets such as Journal of Business and Psychology, Personnel Review and International Journal of Human Resource Management. She is currently serving as an editorial review board member of Journal of Global Mobility.

Adriane MacDonald Adriane MacDonald

Adriane MacDonald joins as an associate professor in Management and joined August 2021. Prior to joining John Molson, she was an associate professor of Policy and Strategy at the University of Lethbridge. Adriane is a multi-disciplinary researcher who focuses on understanding why business, government, and non-profit organizations partner to address sustainability issues; how partners communicate and collaborate; and how partnerships can be structured and managed to achieve tangible sustainability and corporate social responsibility outcomes. Her work has been published in academic journals, such as Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society, and Public Performance & Management Review.

Yijing Jiang Yijing Jiang

Yijing Jiang, who joined John Molson in May 2021, received her PhD in Management (accounting track) from Boston University, and also holds a Master of Accounting degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on corporate social responsibilities and corporate governance. Before going into academia, she worked as an internal auditor at PetroChina for three years.

Mahdi Mirhoseini Mahdi Mirhoseini

Mahdi Mirhoseini is an assistant professor of Business Technology Management and joined John Molson in August 2020. His research focuses on human-computer interaction, the dark side of information technology, and neuro information systems methods. More specifically, his works examine how users’ neurophysiological data can be used to inform IT artifact designers and improve users’ performance and well-being. He received is PhD in Business Administration from the HEC Montréal, his MSc in Management Science and BSc in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.

Yu-Jou (Abby) Pai Yu-Jou (Abby) Pai

Yu-Jou (Abby) Pai is an Assistant Professor of Finance at John Molson, and joined in August 2020. Her research interests lie in asset pricing, with an emphasis on consumption-based models. She is also interested in real estate finance. Abby holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Cincinnati, an MS in Economics from East Carolina University (awarded with outstanding graduate), and a BBA in Banking and Finance from Tamkang University (ranked first in the class and finished in three years).

Arman Sadreddin Arman Sadreddin

Arman Sadreddin is an assistant professor in Business Technology Management, and joined John Molson in August of 2020. His research interests focus on digital entrepreneurship, digital innovation, technology-enabled organizational capabilities, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Arman’s research looks at the role of readily available digital technologies in the new venture creation process. He teaches an undergraduate course on business technology management and his academic background reflects his interest in combining theory with practice. Arman holds a PhD and an MSc in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Canada, an MASc in Quality Systems Engineering from Concordia University, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology, Iran.
