Ylenia Olibet wins 2022 Gerald Pratley Award

Ylenia Olibet, PhD Candidate under the supervision of Professor Rosanna Maule, has won the FSAC/ACÉC Gerald Pratley Award for her proposal titled “Minor Transnationalism in Quebec’s Women Cinema: Diasporic Filmmaking Practices.” The Gerald Pratley Award rewards Graduate students undertaking innovative research in cinema studies that will contribute to the understanding of Canadian/Québec cinema. The jury of the Film Studies Association of Canada (FSAC) is very excited by the innovative work proposed by Ylenia and believes that it will constitute an important contribution to the conversation about the intersections of gender, nation, and race in film.

The 2022 Annual Conference of the Film Studies Association of Canada will be held virtually on May 12-15.
