Art History Community at the 2022 UAAC Conference

Current graduate students, Faculty members and alumni of the Department of Art History are participating at this year's Conference of the Universities Art Association of Canada. Hosted by the Universty of Toronto, the conference will be in person from October 27 until October 29, and will feature online panels on November 4.

On Thursday, October 27, the panel "Canons, Counter-narratives, and Encounters: Teaching Histories and Theories of Photography" is chaired by PhD students Stéphanie Hornstein and Georgia Phillips-Amos and features a paper presentation by Dr. Reilley Bishop-Stall, Assistant Professor, Limited Term Appointment.

Dr. Alice Ming Wai Jim and MA student Nicholas Raffoul are chairing the panel "The Impact of Afrofuturism and the Black Lives Movement on Canadian Art" on Friday, October 28.

That same day, Georgia Phillips-Amos will be presenting a paper for the (Post)colonial Intimacies panel, co-chaired by Ashley Raghubir, an alumna from the MA program. 

On Saturday, October 29, PhD student Adrian Deveau is presenting on the panel Queer Episodes in Canadian Art.

PhD student Stéphanie Hornstein is part of the panel "Investigating the Relationship between Image and Text in Illustrated Books, Part 1" presented online on Friday, November 4.
