The Ethnocultural Art Histories Research Group (EAHR) has launched the results of Diversifying Academia at Concordia, a new research residency supported by the Department of Art History and in collaboration with the Concordia Library. For the residency, Art History undergraduate student Chelsy Monie (BFA 2018) created an open-source bibliographic resource, photographic series, and speaker event designed to “locat[e] … critical spaces for Africans in art history and demonstrate[e] that Africans are both the creators and consumers of their own art practices.” Her photographic series, Voiceless Utterance, will be on display in the Art History Vitrine until October.
