Faculty Accolades, February 2014

Youmin Zhang, Amir Aghdam, Abdel Razik Sebak and Iman Sadeghzadeh are among this month's Faculty Accolades.

In recognition of the research and teaching excellence of Concordia in the area of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), the "Flight Control Systems" teaching and research lab--Networked Autonomous Vehicles Lab (NAVL)--was featured on the CTV National News,  December 2, 2013 on a report about Amazon's future plan for delivering orders using UAVs. Iman Sadeghzadeh, a Phd student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, under the supervision of associate professor Youmin Zhang, was interviewed on behalf of the lab group for the news report. Two faculty members from Electrical and Computer Engineering have become fellows of the Engineering Institute of Canada. Professor Amir Aghdam was recognized "for intelligent control of multi-agent networks" and Professor Abdel Razik Sebak "for applied electromagnetics and carbon composite antennas." These two Concordians are among just 18 individuals selected for fellowship by the EIC in its most recent announcement. Find out more about the EIC here.
