The Department of Theological Studies would like to congratulate frequent guest, Louise Bernice Halfe - Sky Dancer, for her appointment as the new Parliamentary Poet Laureate.

Louise Halfe - Sky Dancer participated in three events hosted by the Department over the past three years. She offered stories during the family-oriented event titled "Discovering Indigenous Roots Together" and took part in a panel discussion titled "The Path Forward: Reflections on Indigenous Resilience." These two events were part of the Theology in the City 2019 week long conference.

This past fall, Louise Halfe - Sky Dancer was one of the four Indigenous speakers that were part of the "Spirituality as Land, Stories, and Relation" event, where she was interviewed on the subject of "Indigenous Spirituality in Poetry."
