Dr. Marc des Jardins - SSHRC Insight Grant

Dr. Marc des Jardins was awarded an SSHRC Insight Grant for his project "Lords of the Earth".  The project is composed of several components researching Tibetan indigenous myths and ritual traditions found in a collection of old Tibetan rites involving local dieties as well as Chinese traditional calendrical lore and cosmology.

Dr. des Jardins is also a co-investigator on an FRQSC grant "Sociétés himalayennes en transition: Pouvoir, histoire et rituel en Haute-Asie et dans la diaspora au Québec." This project is inscribed within the Team Himalayan Program under the direction of Isabelle Henrion-Dourcy (U. Laval) with Lara Bradstein (McGill), Chiara Letizia (UQAM), John Leavitt (U. de M), Marc des Jardins (Concordia) and the collaboration of Thubten Jinpa (McGill).
