|

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Natalie Helberg has renewed her limited-term appointment for 2022-23 in the Department of Philosophy at Concordia.

Natalie specializes in 20th- and 21st-century continental philosophy. She is especially versed in the work of Michel Foucault, Catherine Malabou, Jacques Derrida, and Judith Butler. Feminist philosophy—which she takes to include a commitment to thinking and acting with an awareness of various axes of marginality, not just gender—is always operating in her work. Depression discourse is the subject of her current research. It merges contemporary feminist affect theory and continental work on biopolitics, exploring the ways in which affect theory needs to adjust in light of the ways in which biopower and depression discourse interface
