We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Wanda Teays has made a donation to the Department of Philosophy to support an annual lecture in ethics, over three years. These lectures will take place in cooperation with our ongoing Philosophy Speaker Series. We hosted twelve speakers in 2021-22, and are planning an exciting line-up for 2022-23.

Wanda is the first graduate of the PhD Humanities program—which was a wonderful experience for her. She came to Concordia after getting an M.A. in Philosophy of Mathematics (University of Alberta). From Concordia, she went on to teach Philosophy and Mathematics in Vancouver, Seattle, California, and Boston, ending up at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles. She is now a Philosophy Professor Emerita and the author or editor/co-editor of numerous books, including Global Bioethics and Human Rights, Doctors and Torture, Analyzing Violence Against Women, Seeing the Light: Exploring Ethics Through Movies, Business Ethics Through Movies: A Case Study Approach, The Ethical University: Transforming Higher Education, and Ethics in the AI, Technology, and Information Age, among others. She is delighted to be able to contribute to the Ethics series of the Philosophy Department here at Concordia and wishes us the best!
