Announcement

  • MIGS is proud to be a founding institutional member of the newly created Coalition for Genocide Response. The Coalition was launched at the British Parliament on 4 November.
  • MIGS is pleased to announce two new Digital Fellows, Mark Kersten and Alyssa Blank.
  • MIGS Executive Director Kyle Matthews will be attending the second edition of Paris Peace Forum taking place on November 11 to 13. The 2019 Program is available here.

Upcoming Events

 

  • On 18 November, MIGS will host an event titled “The Dark Social: encrypted messaging platforms for political communication,” featuring Dr. Nicole Rigillo, a Berggruen Institute Research Fellow based at Element AI in Montreal, Canada. 
  • On 27 November, MIGS, in partnership with the Canadian International Council and the Canada-Venezuela Democracy Forum, will host an event titled “Venezuelan Caminantes: a nation’s quest for survival,” featuring Adriana Para, the Deputy Director of Entre Dos Tierra’s Foundation.
  • On 9 December, MIGS will host an event titled “Rwanda’s lessons for humanity,” in partnership with Véhicule Press, will organize a panel discussion and book launch to commemorate the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of Genocide. The discussion will feature Christine Magill, genocide survivors Bertin Muhizi and Marie Josée Gicali, and United Nations peacekeeping veteran Sammy Sampson and MIGS’ Dr. Frank Chalk.
  • On 10 December, MIGS will host an event titled “Operation IMPACT to defeat Daesh: a discussion Colonel Landry”.

Recent events

  • On 21-22 October, MIGS’ Executive Director Kyle Matthew attended the World Leadership-Alliance Club de Madrid Policy Dialogue on Digital Transformation and the Future of Democracy in Madrid, Spain. Over thirty former heads of states and government officials were present to discuss the shift of artificial intelligence from the technological sphere to the field of global governance.   • On 28 October, MIGS’ Executive Director Kyle Matthews attended “Canadians Changing the World: Mobilizing for Global Impact” hosted by the CIC and Global Canada.
