50 dead and Libyan army advance as UN offers truce
  • Libyan Army advanced through several regions in the western part of the country and gained control of the city of Warshfana. 
  • They managed to defeat Libya Dawn militias in Warshfana.
  • The UN envoy proposed a humanitarian truce that would last 4 days in the western part of the country.
  • The Libyan Army spokesman stated that no such decision has been taken yet because Libya Dawn was still terrorizing and murdering people in the city. 
  • In Benghazi, the count of victims has increased to 57 deaths due to suicide bombing and attacks that Haftar is leading against Islamist militias.

Nine dead including one woman in a car bomb in Benghazi near Haftar’s home
  • A woman passed away due to extensive injuries caused by a car bomb in front of Haftar’s home. Haftar is the retired general and leader of the military Operation Dignity. 
  • 9 bodies of men and one child were found and brought back to hospitals as the cycle of Benghazi assassinations continues.

Ansar Al-Sharia tightens hold on Derna and formally establishes Islamic Court
  • Shoura Council of Islamic Youth (SCIY), part of Ansar al-Sharia declared its allegiance to the Islamic State and instituted an Islamic Court in Derna.
  • A Yemeni named Abu Al-Bara Al-Azadi or Abu-Taleb Al-Jazrawi is heading the court along with an Algerian assistant.
  • Over the weekend they passed a sentence of public flogging for a group of young men found guilty of alcohol abuse, which was carried out in the courtyard of the town’s old mosque.
  • Jazrawi also met with education authorities to demand they stop teaching foreign languages, physics, chemistry, and biology.
  • Illuminated Islamic State signs can be seen all over town and police stations and vehicles denote themselves as “Islamic Police” in Arabic.
