1. 6 ADF killed in Kambau, Beni

  • FARDC kill six ADF terrorists during operations on June 13 in Kambau in Beni, North Kivu. 
2. 457 Children associated with militia groups in 2016

  • During the first quarter of 2016, MONUSCO has documented that 457 children (68 girls, 389 boys) have been linked with armed groups.
  • Their roles include combatants, escorts, cooks, maids, messengers and carriers.
  • Girls are also often used for sexual purposes, and as wives. 
3. President Kabila reiterates the importance of the electoral process

  • President Joseph Kabila reiterated the irreversibility of the electoral process in the DRC. He noted that the elections "will indeed take place at all levels", in his closing on Thursday in Lubumbashi.
  • He stressed the importance of inclusivity for the election.
