Dr. Iovita to speak at the 2018 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

September 25, 2017

Dr. Adrian Iovita, whose expertise is in the field of Algebra and Number Theory, has been invited to deliver a keynote at the 2018 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  This is a singular honour that has been awarded to fewer than 20 Canadian mathematicians in the 120 years since its inception and this invitation demonstrates the world-wide respect that Adrian has earned for his research contributions.

The ICM is held every four years; it is here that the Fields Medals are awarded and the most important developments in mathematical research are showcased.  From August 1st  to 9th,  some of the world’s best researchers in mathematics and related areas will come together to share knowledge and take part in actives; from prizes and technical talks to outreach events.  See here for more information.
