As a capstone to his MSc work in our group, Francisco Yarur Villanueva (together with undergraduates Shahnaj Ullah and Kirstin Buenviaje) has published his paper on increasing our understanding of the formation mechanism of copper zinc tin sulfur kesterite nanocrystals in the journal ACS Nano. This work is a collaborative effort together with Prof. Mark Wilson at the University of Toronto (Francisco's current PhD supervisor) and highlights the intricacies involved in the formation of these quarternary nanocrystals that can potentially be used as photocatalysts for solar fuels generation or as active layers in photovoltaics.
