Kathleen Winter teaching Winter 2019

The Creative Writing Program is delighted to announce that novelist, Kathleen Winter will be teaching two courses for the Winter, 2019 semester. ( ENGL 429/4/ B: Finding Your Voice: Transforming historical private writing into literary fiction and ENGL 671/4/AA: Pedestrian Narratives). Ms. Winter’s most recent novel, Lost in September (2017) was, amidst other nominations, a finalist for the 2017 Governor General’s Award for Fiction, and for the 2017 Paragraphe Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction.

Her previous novel, Annabel was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller, Governor General’s Award, Writers’ Trust and Orange prizes, a Globe and Mail “Best Book” and a New York Times “Notable,” as well as a #1 bestselling Canada Reads selection.

Her non-fiction memoir, “Boundless” (Anansi) was shortlisted for both the Hilary Weston Prize and the RBC Taylor prize.

We are very pleased to be able to offer our students this opportunity to work with one of Canada’s finest writers.
