We applaud our former M.A student, LAZER LEDERHENDLER for his stellar work in translating Catherine Leroux’s Giller-nominated novel, The Party Wall. Although it was not the winning novel, Mr. Ledenhendler shares both the credit and the runner-up cheque of $10,000 with Ms. Leroux. http://www.attlc-ltac.org/latest-releases/party-wall-translated-lazer-lederhendler

Our congratulations also to our former student, RHIANNON COLLETTE who collected the 2016 RBC Emerging Playwright Award for her play, Miranda and Dave Begin Again. You can read more about Rhiannon at https://www.playwrightsguild.ca/news/pgc-announces-recipients-2016-tom-hendry-awards

We continue to celebrate our gifted Creative Writing graduates who dominate the 2016 QWF awards shortlist this year. Bravo to SARA O’LEARY (This is Sadie), KELLY NORAH DRUKKER (Small Fires), SARAH BURGOYNE (Saint Twin) and GILLIAN SZE (with Alison Strumberger, Redrafting Winter).

You can read more about the prizes and the upcoming ceremony at

Finally, for those of you who might be wondering, “What can I do with a degree in Creative Writing?”, please refer to this article on alumna and PR exec par excellence, Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski, who earlier this year made the W100 list of Canada’s top female entrepreneurs.
