The Ministry of Education has inaugurated a program of Quebec Excellence scholarships for top students in Quebec universities’ teacher education programs. We are happy to announce that Concordia’s three teacher education programs (B. Ed. In Teaching English as a Second Language, B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, B.F.A. Specialization in Art Education) were awarded over $463,000 for scholarships for 2019-2020! Scholarships are awarded based on the excellence of students’ academic record, and students do not need to apply.

The annual value of each scholarship in the first three years of the program is $7500, awarded in two allotments. In the fourth year, because of the Intern Perseverance and Success Scholarship awarded to students completing their fourth-year internship placements, each scholarship is worth $3600.

For the fall term 2019, 15 students each in Years 1, 2, and 3 were awarded scholarships, while 32 students in Year 4 were awarded scholarships. Scholarship recipients were recently notified about their awards.

Congratulations to our students!
