Ann-Louise Davidson, Associate Professor in Educational Technology, was awarded funding by the Faculty of Arts and Science through the SSHRC Institutional Grants program to explore an interdisciplinary project involving researchers from multiple countries (Canada, France, Denmark, and Côte d’Ivoire). The researchers will co-design and co-create a kombucha machine to be exhibited at the FAB16 Fab City Summit in Montreal in July 2020.

The kombucha machine will be the vector for a wider discussion on the potential of open-source collaborative initiatives, sustainable food and autonomous cities of the future, the culture of hacking in education, the international presence of the “francophonie” in maker culture and the open-source sphere.

Congratulations, Ann-Louise!
