Concordia mourns the passing of Florence Stevens

By Elisabeth Faure

It is with great sadness that the family of Florence Stevens announce the passing of their dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at age 89 at the Royal Victoria Glen Hospital in Montreal.

Professor Stevens joined the Education department in 1973, where she worked as an associate professor at the TESL centre, retiring in 1997. She also served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Mother of Laird, Clifford, and Michael, grandmother to Charlotte, Gethin, Dashiell, Tim & Sean, and great-grandmother to Holly and Chloe, she will be fondly missed by her former colleagues and students and her many friends in Montreal and other parts of the world.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
