Specific component on collaborations with Indigenous communities:
Youth Fusion has been offering projects in Nunavik schools since 2012. The majority of these projects are full-time, so if the Project Coordinator is hired from outside of the community, they would relocate there for the duration of the contract.
Where do we operate?
The majorty of our projects are in northern Quebec: the Inuit territory of Nunavik and the Cree territory of Eeyou Istchee. We also have projects in Gesgapegiag, New Brunswick, Northern Ontario, and the Montreal area (Kahnawake and in Cégeps).
What it's like to work for Youth Fusion?
Youth Fusion Project Coordinators have the unique opportunity to build relationships with the youth that is a combination of mentor, role-model, teacher, and friend. This is the #1 reason that our past employees have renewed for more than one contract, the connection that they have with the youth and the community.
Many of our Project Coordinators have gone on to other professions in the regions where they work, including as teachers, school board employees and regional health board workers.
