COMMUNICATION & DIGITAL CAPABILITIES

Imagine that you are in the spotlight as the speaker, whether it is giving the talk in person or online. All of a sudden, you have dry mouth and your thoughts freeze. The room is spinning (or your computer screen is flashing). The audience is looking at you, no, they are staring at you in a funny way. It is a frightening moment for a presenter. Take a deep breath! This moment will pass, and you will grow from this experience.

This workshop series prepares us for unpleasant moments while you are on the stage, in person or remotely. We’ll look at four common obstacles together, one in each workshop:

  • Workshop 1: Stage unease
  • Workshop 2: Combat hard questions from the audience
  • Workshop 3: Know (no) how to use technology and what to do when it fails
  • Workshop 4: Stand with the audience (engage them)

You can attend the whole 4-part series or drop in for one workshop only. Each workshop can be attended as an independent stand-alone session.

Facilitator: Niem Huynh, PhD, PPCC
