This workshop aims to lessen the experience of information overload by focusing on the information search process from a holistic perspective. Some of the techniques and strategies that will be explored include concept mapping to make connections and identify gaps in your current research, search techniques like citation searching and bibliometric tools, and browsable resources at Concordia like BrowZine and Sofia. We will also discuss ways of managing information overload such as research logs, search alerts, and literature matrices.
